Genome Canada, in collaboration with Western Grains Research Foundation
(WGRF), launched the 2014 Large-Scale Applied Research Project Competition:
Genomics and Feeding the Future. The objective of the competition is to
support research projects that will create new knowledge and inform public
policy for Canada's agri-food and fisheries and aquaculture sectors and
contribute solutions that can help feed the world's growing population.
About $90 million will be allotted for the research projects which will last
for over 4 years.
