Preceedings of the XVI Meeting in Wageningen (The Netherlands), 6-9 June, 2023
The workshop focused on the biocontrol needs and challenges in future cropping systems to prevent and control plant diseases caused by fungi, bacteria and viruses.
It was attended by 130 participants from 20 countries including Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, and many European countries.
Participants presented the latest knowledge and advances in biological control of plant diseases in various cropping systems across the world in 7 invited keynotes and 45 oral and 30 poster presentations. They discussed how biological control can contribute to the future transformation of our food production systems in a changing world. Participants also talked about how the knowledge on the role of microbiomes in disease suppression and biological control solutions can be utilized to achieve high resilience to plant diseases in our food crops.
